Beginning research on the visual media I will be drawing inspiration from in my comics... The Invader Zim comic created by Jhonen Vasquez as a continuation of the original cartoon uses lots of interesting panel shapes and colors--the lineart as well tends to use weight in heavily dynamic ways and scenes use very striking perspectives.

Another piece of work from my other inspiration, Genndy Tartakovsky, is his comic adaptation of Luke Cage from 2016. This exemplifies his UPA-styled flat color backgrounds and shapes, contrasting against highly-stylized characters. The action in this comic has a lot of visual weight, and you can really feel the impact of blows and understand the motion.

I will definitely be looking at these comics and other related works I find to fuel how I construct the action, character posing, and dialogue in my project.
